The Witchunter's Guide to the Galaxy.

GM:
When we left off you guys were in the control room and the announcement had sounded initiating some mysterious protocol. Your guide, a low ranking suspected heritek has left you near the door to the vast control room as he goes to notify his leaders of our presence in the command center.

Sun Chu Sing:

Commissar 314159:
(quick bio)

Commissar 314159:
(back)
Thracia has connected.
Thracia is disconnected.
Thracia has connected.

Stigatus:
“My lord, The cherubim in the docking bay are reporting strange activity. I am investigating to ensure nothing interfears with protocol alpha zero one”

  • Arch Magos is flanked by two guards and three minor priests follow in his wake. He approaches Stigatus with a smooth grace that speaks to impants hidden under his robes
  • Arch Magos to one of the minor priests:

Arch Magos:
Look into it

Arch Magos:
And you. I dont recognise you. YOu are not a member of my security staff

  • Commissar 314159 stands still as the Arch Magos approaches the cadre, and addresses Stigatus

Stigatus:
“That is correct arch magos, I am magos neurologis Stigatus, I have just returned from overseeing our oporations on the lathes.”

Stigatus:
“The Situation there remaines in our favor, they are blind to our glorious intent”

Minor Priest:
Lord Magos! The paradox reactor is at .43 above nominal.

  • Arch Magos considers Stigatus for a moment

Sun Chu Sing:
Skill Check 24 VS. Target Number 43 Success!

Arch Magos:
Guard stay with Magos Stigatus I will deal with him when time permits. For now, we draw close to the conclusion of our great task

  • Stigatus nods at the arch magos

My lord.

  • Reestheus rubs his chin and sizes the guard up.
  • Arch Magos slides away

Stigatus:
Skill Check 90 VS. Target Number 70 Failure!

Stigatus:
Skill Check 54 VS. Target Number 70 Success!

  • Stigatus thinks aloud to himself “there are several hundred personnel on this comet, we are extreamly outnumbered”
  • Reestheus slowly starts to inch his way backwards.
  • Stigatus turns to the guard

Stigatus:
“Guard, I have traveled far and am weary and in need ot recharging, Show me to acommidations untill the arch magos is ready for me”

  • GM the guard turns without regard and motions for you to follow
  • Stigatus follows the guard, gesturing for the others to follow
  • Thracia walks behind Stigatus a few steps.
  • Reestheus follows closely, keeping his eyes on the guard.
  • Commissar 314159 follows the pair of tech priests and a regimented manor
  • Sun Chu Sing follows behind the others trying not to arrouse suspicion
  • Atella follows along
The guard leads you through a warren of passageways past crowds of busy servitors and minor priest until you reach a hall of rectangular metal doors. The guard opens a close door and motions for you to enter.
shortly after you arrive the loudspeaker cracks…
  • Stigatus follows behind the guard
  • Commissar 314159 pauses at the threshold as the speaker begins
The Machine God Watches. Aetheric Quench Arrestor operational. Securitas Escalation Zero One engaged. All tier Two personnel report to station. All tier One personnel to ready state. Standby for heliostatic shunt. Plasma containment coils engage in eight minutes.
  • Guard waits at the threshold and does not enter the room.
The cell is spartan even by the standards of the Mechanicum. There is almost no room to move around and a single hard bed rests against one wall.
  • Reestheus peers outside the hall to see if anyone is coming.
  • Reestheus looks at the group and shakes his head.

Atella:
“We will stand guard here, Magos Stigatus.”

  • Stigatus nods at his servants
  • Atella motions for Stigatus to enter.
  • Stigatus crosses the small room and sits on the bed
  • Stigatus seems woozy
  • Stigatus places a hand on his temple in an effort to steady himself, but then collapses off the bed into a heap on the ground
  • Reestheus slings his rifle and slowly unsheathes his knife while out of view from the guard.
  • Commissar 314159 moves over to the guard as he points to the obscured corner and speaks, “Guard, our master has succumbed, help us get him steady.”
  • Atella rushes to Stigatus. “MAgos!”
  • Guard enters the room and moves to Stigatus
  • Commissar 314159 closes the door behind the guard
    GM:
A blast of static issues from the guards speaker
  • Reestheus quickly moves behind the guard and rams his knife into him.

Reestheus:
« 1d5 = 5 »

Reestheus:
+3

Reestheus:
« 1d5 = 3 »
a pained squeel issues from the guard who pulls away and wheels around.
GM:
Several wicked looking mechadendrites explode from his robes and whip like angry serpents around him.

  • Reestheus backs up. “Uh, whenever you all want to join in…”
  • Atella strikes at the guard from behind
  • Sun Chu Sing draws his hot shot las pistol
  • Stigatus stands

Atella:

Commissar 314159:
« 1d5 = 3 »
Sun’s las shot staggers the guard and the commisar falls onto the wounded guard jamming under its arm and falling ontop of the struggling acolyte
GM:
The guard thrashes for several moments before falling quiet.

  • Stigatus stands and points to reestheus, secure the door.

Stigatus:
“remove his robes

  • Stigatus searches for cell for additional mechanicus robes
  • Reestheus sheathes his knife and guards the door.
  • Commissar 314159 stands and cleans his knife off before sheathing it.
The room is largly empty other than the ancient personal shrine with its votive papers
  • Atella moves to the papers

Atella:
Skill Check 61 VS. Target Number 16 Failure!

  • Atella hands the items to Stigatus. “Perhaps you can convince the machine spirits to unlock the secrets of these.”
  • Commissar 314159 moves over to the door, “Help the Sister find something useful, I’ll keep an eye here.”
  • Reestheus nods and helps search.

Stigatus:
Skill Check 2 VS. Target Number 70 Success!

Stigatus:
“Fantastic, I can interface with the station’s cogitatorial network from this shrine”

Reestheus:
Skill Check 3 VS. Target Number 26 Success!
Under a pile of yellowed prayers written in various code strings, Reestheus notices several strips with a strange written scrawl

Reestheus:
These strips look to be different from the rest…

  • Reestheus gently picks them up and offers them to the group.
  • Stigatus examines the strips

Commissar 314159:
(Notices small yellow sweetened baked dough crumbles near Reestheus’ strips of parchment)

  • Commissar 314159 keeps has hand on the door handle, and positions himself so as to best hear the hallway

Atella:
“This heretical text is just in the open. These fools may not even realize they have fallen to the Chaos.”

Reestheus:
If you wonder if you’re crazy, you ain’t crazy

Atella:
“Nonetheless, we must cleanse them. All of them. Exterminatus is appropriate.”

Stigatus:
“Back in the control room, I saw that alpha zero one was redirecting a large ammount of energy to a section of the comet, if we head in that direction we may be able to destroy whatever hey are powering.”

Atella:
We were sent to find evidence. Here it is. Outright heresy."
The speaker cracks again:
Our great task moves to completion. Quark Sheild active. All Tier one Personnel to station. Pseudo-Astronomican parameter prognostication underway.

Commissar 314159:
“Agreed, Tech-Priest. There was mention of plasma containment coils, I believe. What would the outcome be if we broke them?”

Stigatus:
“devistation most likely”
